The plasmid contains the cre recombinase gene under control of a GAL promoter and complements the ura3 mutation in transformed Saccharomyces cerevisiae strains. The pSH47 plasmid is usefull to express the cre recombinase under Galactose control. loxP flanked deletion markers will be removed from yeast deletions.
