All gene deletions have been generated in the BY strain series. BY strains are derived from strain S288C, the strain used for sequencing of the S. cerevisiae genome. In the worldwide genome deletion project approximately 97 percent of the yeast genes have been successfully deleted.

Four different sets of deletion strains have been constructed.
 

1. Deletions in haploid MATa strains, approximately 5,000 non-essential genes
2. Deletions in haploid MATalpha strains, approximately 5,000 non-essential genes
3. Diploid S. cerevisiae strains with heterozygous deletions, approximately 6,000 strains
4. Diploid S. cerevisiae strains with homozygous deletions, approximately 5,000 non-essential genes

All sets are offered in 96 well microtiter plates as cultures growing on the surface of a solid rich yeast culture medium (YPD-Agar). Due to some empty cavities in the microtiter plates each complete set consists of 75 plates. 
 

In addition there is a subset of the heterozygous deletion strains available. This subset covers the heterozygous deletion strains corresponding to the appr. 1100 essential genes. This subset (COMP-SET-ESS) consists of 14 microtiter plates. The cultures are growing on the surface of a solid rich yeast culture medium (YPD-Agar).

3,000 EUR per set of deletion mutants 

The sets of deletion mutants will be mailed in 3 deliveries of 25 plates each. Intervalls between the deliveries will be approximately 4 weeks. Mailings will be made all over the year. You can enter the mailing system monthly.
