EUROSCARF is run by the Institute of Microbiology located at the biocenter of the University of Frankfurt

EUROSCARF collects yeast strains and plasmids that were generated during various yeast functional analysis projects. The short description of the projects provides additional details on the systematic nomenclature and organization of the collection.

EUROSCARF has been supported by the German BMBF (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung), the European projects EUROFAN I and II, the European yeast industrial platform (YIP) and the federal state of Hessen.
Since the year 2000 the funding is totally dependent on the raised handling fees.
